Activity Centres

Mentally-challenging activities, physical exercise and socialisation are key to keeping people with dementia healthy and to reducing the risk of getting dementia.

Below is a list of activity centres and day centres for Older People throughout Trinidad & Tobago that we have compiled. We do not recommend any one in particular but suggest visiting or contacting the nearest one to you.

Activity Centres for Senior Citizens (aged 55 and older)

TRINIDAD

  • North Trinidad


1. YMCA

Activities: ELDERS IN ACTION E-Generation Project, Tai Chi, Spa Days, Massage Therapy, First Aid and Field Trips as well as information and monthly instructions on health and fitness, aquatic exercise, basic computer literacy, and financial planning. Also available:

Aqua exercise: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:15 – Noon or 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Classes cost only $45/session/ $300 per month
With Special rates for Senior Citizens

Recreational Swimming
Members are allowed to use the pool at the following days & times:
Weekdays (8:00 pm-9:00 p.m.)
Saturday (3:45 pm to 4:30 pm)
Sunday (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm)
